Kiyochika’s Tokyo prints were the subject of an exhibition titled “Kiyochika: Master of the Night” at the Smithsonian Institution’s Freer-Sackler Gallery in 2014. On July 22, curator James T. Ulak toured the exhibition for Visualizing Cultures. These videos are excerpts from this tour. They take viewers into selected prints as seen through the eyes of a distinguished expert in the field. The exhibition wall texts and an object list containing metadata are included as well.
